We are pleased to announce that the Allan Gray Australia Equity Fund is a finalist in the Australian Large Cap Equity Fund of the Year category at the 2023 Money Management Fund Manager of the Year Awards. Congratulations to our portfolio managers and analysts.
Lonsec is the research partner for the awards and was involved in developing “a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing and benchmarking Australia’s leading finance professionals.”
The pool of eligible funds within each category is the Lonsec-rated universe. This universe is then screened according to funds that have met the following criteria:
- Has received a Lonsec Recommended or above rating for each of the last three years
- Has met at least two of the following:
- Met or exceeded investment objectives
- Delivered alpha above that of peers
- Delivered defensive characteristics above peers
This screening process ensures only funds where Lonsec has high conviction in the capability of the fund manager and their team are eligible for the award. The quantitative screening characteristics can then be applied. A shortlist of finalists is then selected from this group.
You can learn more about the awards and selection process here.
The winners are announced on Thursday22 June 2023. Best of luck to our team!
